The deer hunting season is over, the issues cause by deer herds in urban areas are only expected to increase, prompting local governments across West Michigan to weigh options on how to deal with the deer population.
Norton Shore officials say while this year's deer hunt was a success, deer populations still remain large.
The Kent County cities previously said they expected to meet with a DNR official at the end of 2023. Their findings will likely be presented during this month’s committee meeting. At this time, a cull isn’t out of the question for the area.
