Car crashes into building in Georgetown Township

GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Ottawa County Sheriff's deputies say an 87-year-old Caledonia woman avoided injuries this morning when her car crashed into a building in Georgetown Township.

It was around 10:15 a.m., on Georgetown Center Drive. That's east of 20th Avenue.

Deputies say say she was trying to park in a space in front of a salon, and she mistakenly hit the gas pedal instead of the brake. That sent the sedan through the front of the building.

One customer inside the salon suffered minor injuries.
