Muskegon has received five stars for its efforts to contribute to state growth and economic development, a recognition made by researchers with the University of Michigan-Dearborn's Office of Engagement and Impact.
A higher rating then the city received last year, being four stars. This comes after the city has committed to making several improvements over the last several years, including in areas such as housing.
The City of Muskegon has also invested in local parks, with more than 25 million invested in infrastructure projects over the last seven years.
