City of GR to Consider Rezoning Riverfront

A nearly 30-acre section of Grand Rapid's riverfront could be rezoned.

The Grand Rapids City planning Commission is recommending changes that could be implemented next year, which would bring more businesses and housing to the Front and Scribner avenues.

The zoning recommendation is just one part of the city's masterplan to revitalize and rework the Grand River and the communities surrounding it.

The final decision for the potential rezoning to be made by the city commission is expected to take place next year.
