GR 3rd Ward City Commissioner Nathaniel Moody is Stepping Down

Grand Rapids Third Ward City Commissioner Nathaniel Moody will resign effective December 31st.

He was appointed to the city commission in 2018 and elected in November 2019. Moody says in a news release that it has been "An honor of a lifetime to serve the residents of this great city and to serve with my colleagues and friends on the city commission."

He said he is stepping down for personal reasons. Mayor Rosalynn Bliss cited Moody's "wisdom and compassion" in guiding the city through some tough times. She says she will consult with the city clerk, city attorney and her colleagues to develop a process for filling Moody's seat, which will occur after the holidays.
