Open house for citizens to bid farewell to outgoing Holland councilmembers

HOLLAND, Mich. -- The City of Holland will host an open house Saturday, December 2, to give citizens a chance to meet with three outgoing city councilmembers.

The event will run from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Holland Civic Center. It's for Nicki Arendshorst, Dave Hoekstra, and Jay Peters. Combined, the three councilmembers served the residents of Holland for 44 years. So, the open house will give residents a chance to thank them for their years of dedicated service.

The city says everyone is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.

Dave Hoekstra was first elected to City Council in 2003 and served 20 years. Holland voters first elected Jay Peters in 2007 to Council, and he served 16 years. Nicki Arendshorst was first elected in 2019 to the Council and served four years.
