Ottawa County Board sets Oct. 19 hearing to consider firing health officer

HOLLAND, Mich. -- The Ottawa County Board of Commissioners will hold a hearing Oct. 19 to discuss the potential firing of the county's Administrative Health Officer, Adeline Hambley.

She and some conservative members of the county commission have locked horns since they tried to remove Hambley in January. She turned around and sued seven of the commissioners. Hambley filed an emergency request September 1st with the Michigan Court of Appeals in an effort to prevent what she felt was a threat to her job.

The county says in a news release today that Hambley's attorney received a notice about the hearing to remove Hambley late Tuesday night, and the official notice was filed today with the Ottawa County Clerk.

We have attached to this article the hearing notice, along with Attorney Sarah Howard's response to it.
