ZEELAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office says a 21-year-old Caledonia man had to be airlifted to a hospital after a collision with a dump truck in Zeeland Township this afternoon.
It happened just before 1 o'clock on Byron Road at 48th Avenue. Deputies say his SUV (a Honda CRV) pulled out into the path of the Sterling dump truck at the intersection.
Both vehicles wound up in a ditch. The Caledonia man was listed in serious condition. The driver of the dump truck was not hurt. He is 51 and from Zeeland.
