WEST OLIVE, Mich. -- The Ottawa County Clerk's office confirms petition paperwork to recall a county commissioner has been filed with the county Elections Office.
A spokeswoman tells WOOD Radio the petition language filed against commissioner Lucy Ebel will be reviewed at a clarity hearing on July 17th. The language of the petition will be examined first. If it is approved, then the next step would be for the Park Township resident who filed the petition to collect signatures for a recall.
Ebel is a member of the conservative political group Ottawa Impact that pushed for commissioners to oust Administrative Health Officer Adeline Hambley earlier this year.
It takes more than 24-hundred signatures to recall a city county commissioner in District 2.
