Two West Michigan men face charges for child sexually abusive materials

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Two West Michigan men are in legal trouble for allegedly sharing sexually abusive content involving children.

The Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force has arrested a 54-year-old Grand Haven man for criminal sexual conduct in the 2nd degree.

State Police also say Brian Ray Stefano was charged with child sexually abusive activity for production and aggravated possession, as well as using a computer to commit a crime, and resisting and obstructing. Altogether, 12 counts were read against Stefano.

He was arrested following an investigation which began when a tip was received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. A search of Stefano’s residence resulted in digital evidence being confiscated.

A 63-year-old Rockford man is facing several charges related to child sexually abusive material. Michigan State Police say Randy Roossien was arrested Wednesday after investigators learned that he allegedly downloaded and shared files of child sexually abusive material on the internet. After some evidence was taken from his home by police, Roossien was charged with six total counts. Among them was using a computer to commit a crime.

The Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigated the case.

ROCKFORD, MICH. The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is announcing the arrest of Randy Edward Roossien, 63, of Rockford, for aggravated child sexually abusive activity, aggravated distribution of child sexually abusive material, aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, and using a computer to commit a crime.

Roossien was arrested following an investigation in which digital evidence was seized from his residence. The investigation was initiated when it was learned that Roossien was downloading, viewing, and sharing files of child sexually abusive material on the internet.

Following the search of his residence, Roossien was charged with one count of aggravated child sexually abusive material, one count of aggravated distribution of child sexually abusive material, one count of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, and 3 counts of using a computer to commit a crime. Roossien was arraigned in the 63rd District Court on Wednesday, June 28.

If convicted, Roossien faces up to 25 years in prison for the aggravated child sexually abuse activity, 15 years for aggravated distribution of child sexually abusive material, 10 years for aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, and 20 years for using a computer to commit a crime.
