Car strikes pedestrian in Georgetown Township

GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office says a 64-year-old Hudsonville woman suffered serious injuries after she was struck by a car during the noon hour Friday.

It happened on 36th Avenue and Baldwin Street in Georgetown Township around 12:10 p.m. Police say a driver who was stopped at a red light started to make a right turn onto Baldwin but didn't see the pedestrian and hit her in the crosswalk. She was taken to a hospital by ambulance. Police say the driver was a 58-year-old Hudsonville man.

No names were released.

Responding to the crash scene were the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, Georgetown Township Fire/Rescue and Life EMS Ambulance.
