MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. -- Plans to improve Rowan Park in downtown Muskegon Heights are getting a big boost from a $250,000 grant.
Consumers Energy Foundation is providing the Prosperity Award grant for the park on Broadway Avenue.
A spokeswoman for the utility company, Tracy Wimmer, tells WOOD Radio spaces like Rowan Park strengthen communities.
"They bring people out to businesses in the area. They provide a place for families and individuals to spend time that doesn't cost anything to them. And so, we were really excited about this project and very grateful that we had the opportunity to help to be a part of it, and present this grant to the city," Wimmer said in a phone interview.
