GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Silent Observer says an anonymous donor has added some money to a reward fund in hopes of helping police track down the killer of Santino Ysasi last fall.
The reward is now $7,500 for information leading to an arrest in the case. The original amount was $3,200, then it was increased to $5,000 in February. The 46-year-old Ysasi was murdered outside of St. James Catholic Church on Bridge Street, on Grand Rapids' west side in the overnight hours of October 29. Police released a surveillance video earlier this year showing a person of interest near where the crime happened. That person was wearing a hooded jacket and a mask.
Silent Observer says the donor hopes the new enhanced reward will motivate someone to come forward so the suspect can be brought to justice. Tips to Silent Observer remain anonymous, per state law.
