Florida man arrested in connection with three sexual assaults in Kent Co.

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- Investigators in Charlotte County, Florida, have arrested a 49-year-old resident there on multiple counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct involving minors stemming from incidents in Kent County.

Shannon Guay was arrested by the Kent County Sheriff's Office and Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office detectives in Punta Gorda on May 10th. Police say he has been charged by the Kent County Prosecutor's Office in three separate cases, involving five different victims.

The Kent County Sheriff's Office says they were all minors at the time of the offenses, and that they occurred at three separate locations in the county. Detectives learned that some of the victims had been sexually assaulted while a business called Aerials and Baranis Gymastics on Coit Avenue near Plainfield Avenue. Guay was employed at the gymnastics center at the time.

He will be extradited to the Kent County Jail. View the WOODTV.com article about the case.

The KCSO provided more information in a news release:

Guay was a resident of Kent County until around 2010 but has since moved around the country. He is currently a Florida resident and will be awaiting extradition to the Kent County Jail. The case remains open as investigators continue to look through evidence, and given the fact Mr. Guay was a coach, there is the possibility of additional individuals who may have information about this case or other cases.
