Suspect in brutal beating of woman in Jamestown Township hit with 4 charges

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. -- The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office has provided an update on a domestic assault that happened yesterday outside a home in Jamestown Township.

It says 18-year-old Zachary Dodde of Hudsonville was formally charged with four counts of assault and battery, felonious assault and aggravated assault during a video arraignment with the 58th District Court.

Sheriff's investigators say the suspect assaulted a 51-year-old woman in a home on Granite Street during an argument, then hit and kicked her repeatedly. She suffered facial, rib, cranial and back injuries and is listed in stable condition at a hospital. Neighbors tried to intervene, but allegedly were assaulted by the man, as well.

Deputies arrived and took the man into custody.

Bond has been set at $25,000 cash/surety while Dodde remains in the Ottawa County Jail.
