GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Kent County Sheriff's Office says the driver allegedly involved in a hit-and-run crash involving a bicyclist Saturday in Sparta Township has come forward.
It happened around 9 o'clock that night on North Division Avenue, just north of 13 Mile Road. The Sheriff's Office says the driver left the scene and a passerby later saw the bicyclist lying on the ground and notified the authorities.
Investigators say the 36-year-old Sparta man who was hit suffered serious injuries, including broken bones. According to the KCSO, the cyclist was wearing a yellow reflective vest and had his headlamp on at the time of the crash.
Deputies found pieces of headlight assembly from the suspect's vehicle at the scene.
