Flood Warnings posted following heavy rains in West Michigan

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- A Flood Warning is posted in Ottawa County's Robinson Township after more than two inches of rain fell Wednesday during the thunderstorms.

That was on top of heavy rain earlier in the week. Ottawa County Emergency Management says some inland areas are experiencing flooding. The Grand River there is forecasted to reach minor flood stage by Friday afternoon before cresting late Saturday night.

In Kent County, the Sheriff's Office says the Grand River is predicted to be close to flood stage by Friday. The biggest concern is in Comstock Park, but other areas that could see some flooding include the Grand River in Ada and Lowell, and Buck Creek in Grandville.

The National Weather Service says the Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in West Michigan:

Grand River at Ionia affecting Ionia County.

Grand River at Lansing affecting Ingham County.

Grand River at Robinson Township affecting Ottawa County.

Grand River at Lowell affecting Kent County.

Grand River at Ada affecting Kent County.

Grand River at Grand Rapids affecting Kent County.

Muskegon River at Bridgeton affecting Newaygo County.

Maple River at Maple Rapids affecting Clinton County.
