GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic forced the event's cancellation, Mel Trotter Ministries in Grand Rapids will host an Easter meal for homeless people on Wednesday, April 5th.
The meal will be served in the Mel Trotter Ministries' Cook Cafeteria at 225 Commerce Avenue SW, from 4:30 p.m to 6 p.m. Mel Trotter says it expects about 500 people to attend the event and is looking for community volunteers to help prepare and plate the food, as well as help with clean up.
The community Easter Meal was paused in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Mel Trotter is relaunching it this year with special music, a festive meal and a focus on the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
