Downtown Muskegon fun: Parties in the Park releases summer schedule

MUSKEGON, Mich. -- You will be able to listen to live music when the 39th season of Parties in the Park returns to downtown Muskegon's Hackley Park this summer.

The nonprofit group's board of directors announced Tuesday the 2023 season dates, non-profit partners and headlining bands:

June 2 - Muskegon Jaycees / Project 90

June 16 - Muskegon Young Black Professionals / Aintee-Kim & U'Neek Soul

June 30 - Woman's Division Chamber of Commerce / Magic Bus

July 7- Muskegon Sports Council / North 41

July 14 - Disability Network, West Michigan / Flexadecibel

July 28 - Boys & Girls Club of the Muskegon Lakeshore / West Side Soul Surfers

Aug 4 - West Michigan Speed Skating Club / Brenden Monroe

Aug 18 - Muskegon Rotary Club / That Beatles Thing

Parties in the Park feature live music, beverage tents, food vendors, and a kids' zone on Friday nights in Downtown Muskegon’s Hackley Park from 5 p.m. to 9pm. Admission to the parties is free.

The Parties in the Park board said in a news release:

A competitive application process determines each year’s non-profit partners. These non-profits help coordinate the events and receive event proceeds to help carry out their meaningful work in Muskegon County. Over our 38 previous seasons, Parties in the Park has contributed over $1.75 Million Dollars to area Non-Profit Agencies.

This year’s entertainment will include favorites like funk, rock and soul band Flexadecibel , West Side Soul Surfers, Woodstock tribute band - Magic Bus, upcoming Country artist Brenden Monroe and the season concludes with Beatles Tribute Band – That Beatles Thing. The 2023 Parties in the Park season is presented by Best Financial Credit Union, RENK America, and Michelob Ultra.
