GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Grand Rapids Police have identified the 39-year-old man who was fatally shot early yesterday morning on the city's near south side.
They say Laeveil Walker of Grand Rapids was gunned down outside the My Place Bar on South Division Avenue near Fair Street. A second man who was shot multiple times remains in critical-but-stable condition at a hospital.
The GRPD says the Kent County Medical Examiner has ruled Walker's death a homicide after completing an autopsy
More than 50 rounds were fired. No arrests have been made. Police are investigating who did it. They figure there were at least two people involved.
The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m., a couple blocks north of Cottage Grove Street.
