GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Grand Rapids Police say two men were shot near the My Place Bar this morning, and one of them has died.
It happened around 12:30 along Division Avenue, north of Cottage Grove. Officers in the area heard gunshots, and responded. But life-saving measures did not work on the victim. He was declared dead at the scene.
A second victim showed up at a hospital with a gunshot wound. Police say he was in critical condition but starting to recover. The GRPD says they figure at least two people were involved and more than 50 rounds were fired.
The GRPD says the investigation by its Major Case Team is ongoing. Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Grand Rapids Police Department or Silent Observer.
