Kentwood Police arrest suspect in multiple business break-ins

KENTWOOD, Mich. -- The Kentwood Police Department says a 57-year-old man suspected in multiple businesses break-ins last year and this year now stands formally charged.

According to a KPD news release, Kenneth Wooden of Kentwood was arraigned in Kentwood 62B District Court Feb. 2 on two felony counts of breaking and entering a business. He allegedly smashed open the doors on businesses on 29th Street on Jan. 27, and 32nd Street and on Dec. 16. Police say he stole cash and property in the 32nd St heist and personal property in the 29th Street theft. Both locations are near Lake Eastbrook Blvd.

Wooden is being held in the Kent County Correctional Facility.

Kentwood Police say they believe Wooden is responsble for additional break-ins, and their detectives continue to investigate.
