CALEDONIA TOWNSHP -- The westbound lanes of M-6 in southern Kent County have reopened this afternoon following a two-vehicle crash that shut down through traffic for a couple hours.
That is according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.
The crash occurred during the noon hour near the Broadmoor Avenue (M-37) exit. That is west of the Gerald R. Ford International Airport near the Caledonia and Gaines township line.
Michigan State Police told WOOD Radio mid-afternoon Tuesday that no information would be announced about their investigation of the crash until later. Kent County Central Dispatch said westbound traffic was being directed off M-6, up the the exit ramp, and back down via the on-ramp to get around the crash scene.
The lanes reopened just before 3 p.m.
Police said a box truck and a semi-truck collided. There was no early word on the extent of injuries or who was involved.
