GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Grand Rapids Police say some burglars used a large rock to break into several area businesses early this morning, primarily on the city's northeast side.
Four of the six businesses the thieves either broke into - or tried to break into - were gas stations with retail sales. One was a liquor store and another was a cannabis retail business. They mainly stole E-cigarettes, vaping cartridges and tobacco products. Money was taken from a cash register in one instance.
Police say three suspects were seen on surveillance video, and at least one of the vehicles they drove was an S-U-V that had been stolen from Wyoming earlier in the night. Michigan State Police later found the abandoned vehicle at the US-131/I-196 interchange downtown shortly after the final burglary was reported.
Description of suspects are as follows:
S1: Male, black ski-mask, orange face covering, black puffy jacket, black pants, white shoes.
S2: Male, blue face covering, black jacket with hood up, dark-colored pants, black shoes.
S3: Male, black baseball cap, black puffy jacket with hood up, blue jeans, black shoes, and gloves.
