GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — University of Michigan athletes are using their platform in the fight for racial equality with the charge being led by former East Kentwood standout Briana Nelson.
A thrower on the Wolverines' track and field team, Nelson founded the student organization Wolverines Against Racism (WAR) that was partially inspired by the Big Ten Conference’s Anti-Hate and Anti-Racism Coalition.
