GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids firefighters are crediting smoke alarms for alerting residents to a fire at their home near I-196.
It happened around 7:10 p.m. Friday near the corner of Emerald Avenue and Capen Street NE, east of Eastern Avenue.
The Grand Rapids Fire Department says crews arrived to flames and heavy smoke.
