Battle Creek may ban phones while driving

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — The city of Battle Creek could soon ban the use of cellphones while driving.

A proposed ordinance would prohibit anything except hands-free use of a cellphone.

Using a cellphone while driving would be a primary offense, meaning you could get pulled over for it. There would be certain exceptions that allow for emergencies and to report crimes.
