EMMETT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities in Calhoun County rescued 17 dogs that were left outside in the bitter cold Thursday.

An animal control deputy with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office was called to a house in the 10000 block of I Drive in Emmett Township, near Battle Creek, after reports that dogs were left outside in arctic conditions.
