NILES TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A man who authorities were searching for Friday after he allegedly threatened two people with a knife was arrested Sunday after holing up in a home south of Niles.
The 21-year-old, whose name was not released Sunday, faces charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, unlawful imprisonment, interfering with communications and possession of a controlled substance.
The Berrien County Sheriff's Office said it first tried to take him into custody Friday after he allegedly threatened two people with a knife inside a home on Florence Avenue west of 17th Street in Niles Township. Responding deputies were told the man had locked himself inside the house, where he lives with the victims.
