Project Night Lights lifts spirits in GR

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Downtown Grand Rapids and the spirits of young patients staying there were a little brighter Wednesday, when hundreds of people gathered outside for Project Night Lights.

Every second Wednesday of the month, supporters stand outside Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital with flashlights, phones and glow sticks, illuminating the area to let children inside the hospital know they care.

Inside, some young patients respond by flashing their own light from their hospital room.

Project Night Lights kicked off June 13.
