GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A man who beat his 1-month-old son, leading to his death two years later will remain behind bars for the rest of his life.
On Monday, Kent County Judge Donald Johnston granted the prosecutor’s request to keep 39-year-old Damon Jackson in prison.
Jackson is serving a life sentence for the 1997 death of his son. Prosecutors said the injuries the 1-month-old baby suffered in the attack by Jackson later led to his death.
