GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A former Gull Lake Community Schools student is suing the district, saying administrators failed to properly investigate after she said she was sexually assaulted by another student.
According to the 21-page suit filed in federal court Wednesday, the high school student, identified only as Jane Doe, said she was assaulted on campus twice by an older student in April 2016.
Jane Doe said the other student went on to harass, intimidate and punch her at school. The following school year, the suit alleges, he choked her and slammed her up against a wall.
It was after that incident the girl's mother found out about the assaults and contacted school officials.
