GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say a body pulled from the Grand River in Grand Rapids Sunday afternoon had been in the water for some time.
The body is that of a man, according to the Grand Rapids Fire Department. His identity was not immediately known.
A GRFD battalion chief at the scene told 24 Hour News 8 that crews were first called to the river at Fish Ladder Park, near the I-196/US-131 interchange, on a report of someone needing medical attention. That soon changed to the discovery of a body in the water.
