Man pistol-whipped, robbed in Grand Rapids park

Authorities are searching for two men who robbed a man in Grand Rapids Saturday morning.

It happened around 8:56 a.m. Saturday at Mary Waters Park at the intersection of Leonard Street NW and Lafayette Avenue NE.

The Grand Rapids Police Department says the two men pulled out a gun, pistol-whipped the man and demanded money. It's unclear how much money the robbers got away with.

No additional suspect information has been released at this time.

GRPD says the victim of the robbery sustained non-life threatening injuries to the face in the robbery and ran east on Leonard Street NW until he reached the Family Dollar on Monroe Avenue NW where staff called police reporting the robbery.
