1 injured in hit-and-run outside Grand Haven McDonald's

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Haven officers are looking for the driver who ran over a Muskegon man in a McDonald’s parking lot, leaving him critically injured.

The Grand Haven Department of Public Safety says it was called to the McDonald’s at 1617 S. Beacon Blvd. at 9:42 p.m. Saturday.

When officers arrived, they found a 36-year-old man who had severe, life-threatening injuries to his head.

Investigators say the man had stepped out of the van  and was walking through the back parking lot near the drive-thru lane when he was hit by the same van he had been riding in.  The vehicle sped away from the parking lot, leaving the man on the ground.

The victim was taken to Hackley Hospital where he remained in critical condition Monday.
