FRUITPORT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — One lane of northbound US-31 has closed due to a buckle in the roadway.
The buckle happened in the left lane on northbound US-31 near Broadway Avenue, which is causing backups in the area.
The Michigan Department of Transportation is on scene to assess the issue and police are directing traffic.
A Fruitport Township Police Department Facebook post said the closure is likely to impact Monday morning commutes. Drivers are asked to avoid the area and use an alternate route.
