UPDATE: Byron Center bank robbed; suspect surveillance picture released

BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The Kent County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the person who robbed a bank teller in downtown Byron Center by gunpoint.

It happened around 1:16 p.m. Friday at the Huntington Bank located on the northeast corner of 84th Street and Byron Center Avenue.

Authorities say they’re searching for the suspect. It’s unclear how much money the robber got away with, and if anyone was injured.

Surveillance images of the robber show him carrying a gun and wearing a dark coat, dark gloves, khaki shorts and a black and white hat.
