A House of Representatives vote on the Republican plan to repeal and replace Obamacare remains on the schedule, White House press secretary Sean Spicer said Friday, even as President Donald Trump and GOP leaders on Capitol Hill search for enough votes to push the legislation through the chamber.
Trump has “left everything on the field when it comes to this bill,” Spicer said in his introductory remarks at Friday’s press briefing, which began as the president was meeting with House Speaker Paul Ryan about the prospects for the repeal-and-replace measure, dubbed the American Health Care Act.
“The president and his team have committed everything they can to making this thing happen. And the speaker is going to continue to update him on the way forward,” Spicer said, noting that he expected a vote on the bill around 3:30 Friday afternoon.
