Consumers Energy: Work scheduled for Thursday morning in Allegan County

ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. -- The lights might flicker Thursday morning in Allegan County. Consumers Energy says crews will work on a local substation around 6 a.m. and interruptions to service could last for 5 minutes.

The utility is upgrading a substation to limit power outages in the future.

The work will impact homes and businesses east of 34th Street, west of 19th Street, south of 116th Avenue and north of 114th Avenue.

"We appreciate the patience and understanding of our customers, and are working to minimize the impact of our work tomorrow morning," said Steve Herrygers, Consumers Energy's senior executive director of high voltage distribution. "Consumers Energy is carrying out this upgrade to ensure our customers don't lose power unexpectedly at some point in the near future."

Customers can contact the utility if they have questions or concerns.
