The voting is open now and you can cast your ballot up until October 6th at 11:59 in the morning they will announce the winners on October 15th.
Airport Authority President and CEO Tory Richardson, says they are honored to once again be selected as a reader’s choice finalist for best small airport in 2025. Richardson says they had 4-million people use the airport in 2024 which broke a record. She is also pleased with how capital expansion has progressed. The 750-million-dollar investment aptly called ELEVATE will see 6 projects completed when its all said and done:
- Expansion and widening of Concourse A which added 155,000 square feet of space, including eight new gates, five additional restaurants and enhanced amenities.
- A federal inspection station to support nonstop international commercial passenger flights
- Relocation of the air traffic control tower to make space for diverse terminal-area developments
- Michigan’s first consolidated rental car facility
- Expansion of the terminal curb front
- Construction of an additional parking garage
