GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Acrisure Amphitheater says country pop singer Russell Dickerson will perform the first concert ever at the downtown Grand Rapids venue on May 30 next year.
Tickets will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. Niko Moon will be the special guests that night.
The 12,000-capacit amphitheater is scheduled to open in May 2026 along the Grand River. The Grand Rapids-Kent County Convention/Arena Authority estimates there will be about seven concerts at the Acrisure Amphitheater in May and June next year.
Voters approved in the August 6,2024 primary election a 3 percent increase in the lodging excise tax, which raised the fate on hotel stays from 5 percent to 8 percent. It was part of a Sports & Entertainment Facilities proposal. The money also will help for the downtown Amway Soccer stadium that is due to be completed in 2027.
