GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Grand Rapids Police say four teens jumped a man, injured him and broke into his home in August.
The incident happened on August 16th around 8:30 a.m. Officers were called to a home for reports of a burglary by someone who was worried about the resident who lived in the home.
Later that day, police were called to a hospital about an unidentified patient who was brought in by an ambulance around 6 a.m. in critical condition.
Officers arrived at the hospital and confirmed the injured man was the resident of the home where the break-in happened.
The victim underwent emergency surgery for a brain injury and was in intensive care for a week.
GRPD says they have identified four juvenile suspects and have them in custody. A fifth person may be involved.
