Wyoming shooting leads to carfentanil bust

WYOMING, Mich. -- A shooting in the city of Wyoming led investigators to a record seizure of carfentanil.

Ramico J. Earvin was arrested in March after he allegedly shot another man in the leg during an argument. Police were investigating the shooting when they found a pound of carfentanil and more than two pounds of cocaine under Earvin's bed.

Officials say this is the largest seizure of carfentanil locally and the drug had "unfathomable" potential if it had made it to the streets. Carfentanil is an elephant tranquilizer and is 10,000 times more potent than morphine.
