The John Ball Zoo says a female snow leopard cub has died.
The zoo says 9-month-old Mera was showing signs of pain that did not improve after medication.
The animal underwent a CT scan and ultrasound to determine what was causing the pain. Officials say the cub had abnormalities in her urinary system that could not be surgically repaired.
The zoo had to make the difficult decision to humanely euthanize her.
