Firefighters ask public to stop driving over hoses

Firefighters are asking the public to stop driving over their hose lines when they are fighting fires.

Crews were battling a fire in Muskegon on Sunday afternoon when they say several people drove over their hoses.

The firefighters union says it has happened many times lately.

Officials say the hoses are not made to withstand the pressure of a vehicle and could burst causing the crews to lose critical water in an emergency situation.
