A 5k race was held on Tuesday to support the Grand Rapids Police Foundation.
The Donut Dash has been held on Fat Tuesday for the past seven years.
GR Police Chief Eric Winstrom says the foundation does so much in the periphery to keep the city safe.
The event was a standard 5k but with stops at Gazelle Sports downtown and the Bridge Street Market to pick up a paczki to fuel runners on their way to the finish line.
