Big Lake Humane Society is asking the community for help after its last well pump broke and they face an expensive repair bill.
The shelter says they noticed a leak around one of their pumps last month and had a company out to assess the problem. They learned one of their pumps wasn't work at all and the working pump had a leak and was heading toward failure.
Big Lake says they now face a $12,000 repair bill and they will not have safe water for their animals to drink until the repairs occur.
The shelter is asking the community to donate funds as well as paper towel and drinking water to help them in the meantime.
