Kids' Food Basket is announcing they have purchased a property in Muskegon.
The property is located at 2230 Barclay St. near Hackley Avenue and Sherman Boulevard. The nonprofit is planning to renovate the facility and move in this summer.
The facility is eight times larger than its current space.
"For many years, we have heard from our Muskegon neighbors about the need for expanded KFB services on the lakeshore," said KFB President and Founding CEO Bridget Clark Whitney. "We are endlessly grateful for the rented space that have allowed us to serve the area for 13 years, but our capacity has been limited. This new, owned facility represents a deepened commitment to our community as we work toward a Muskegon County where every child not only has consistent access to good food, but also education about where it comes form and why it's important."
The new facility will allow for an increase of 300 daily Sack Suppers going into fall 2025.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on April 25 at 11 a.m. to celebrate the new facility.
