GR African American Museum looking for new space

The Grand Rapids African American Museum and Archives is getting ready to expand as its collection continues growing.

Executive director George Bayard III says the museum has outgrown its current home ion Monroe Center.

The museum has about 2,100 square feet, including storage, and roughly 25 percent of their collection is on display.

Bayard is optimistic they can find a new space by the end of the year after several potential locations have fallen through in the past.
