The Grand Rapids Public Library will be hosting a series of events to help kids promote their literacy levels by reading aloud to therapy dogs.
The branches in Ottawa Hills and Yankee Clipper Branch are hosting a "Tails and Tales" program this winter and spring. Twice a month, kids can bring their own book or choose one from the library to read aloud from to a therapy dog. The program is aimed at kids in elementary school who may struggle with reading, though all children are welcome.
The dates vary by branch, with the first one scheduled to be held next Wednesday on Jan. 22 from 6:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. You can check the event schedule by going to the Grand Rapids Public Library website.
